I’ve been wanting to update my blog for the longest time ever (I start on a post every week but I never get down to finishing it because of a variety of reasons…) and here I am, today, determined to finish this – HAHA if I don’t you won’t see this anyway right.
So many things have happened over the past few weeks, I don’t know where to start.
I’ve been updating Instagram SO OFTEN it’s almost ridiculous… a grand total of 17 posts from April to today! Usually, we’re only looking at two per month at most. But I’m not afraid.
Really not in the mood to do boring narration of my life and what I did at various events, but maybe you can check out this video to see how my sister’s birthday’s celebration went! Novel experience and it was a pretty dayum amazing one. :) Thank you mummy for organising the best parties ever, Im sure everyone who attended enjoyed themselves a great deal! (including me)
Love you so damn much, Jie. You pretty everywhere la!!!!
Also wanted to share with you the International Understanding Week publicity video but it’s over already so no point la huh! And I swear Instagram has become my micro-blogging platform (Dayre is too much a hassle, really) and it’s great to keep track of stuff that happens.
Last project with 30th EXCO and I really think it went better than expected :)
Some pretty amazing stuff also happened within the span of 4 weeks!
Went for Ares Faculty Outing (which went great, congrats FC once again) – ultimate fans of Yvette Tan and she was stunning ok. Pictures already uploaded onto Twitter and Instagram so check those places out if you haven’t seen any ;)
Also caught Beauty and the Beast + Avengers (A.O.U.) –> frankly speaking, neither were jaw-droppingly amazing but they were great. I think my favourite scene in BatB was the one when Mrs Potts was singing the classic Tale as Old as Time while Belle and Beast were having their dinner date? The whole scene felt really right. HAHAHA. And I think we all had too high an expectation for Avengers (plus it was a tiring Sunday night movie after consecutive days of socialising and playing) so when it didn’t exceedingly impress, there was a tinge of disappointment. To be fair, both were not too bad at all!!
Next up, also stepped down from IG3 and no more CommServe Mondays, and actually for the last time, we didn’t have to go already but the juniors couldn’t make it because of the change in timetable, so a few of us popped by. Interacted with Alia for the first time (she’s always been the quiet sleepy child… hahaha) and she was so incredibly cute and spoke up more? Kids who fist-bump me back are naturally amazing la okay HAHAHA. Was with Aliqa for the bulk of the session and she was throwing a temper because she couldn’t do math. Basically it went a little something like this:
Me: So do you know what is “x” (multiplication)?
Me: Are “x” and “+” the same thing?
Me: They aren’t, Aliqa. What is 1+1?
Me: What is 1×1?
Aliqa: 2!!!!! Ehh no, 1!!!!!!!
Me: So are they the same thing?
And she couldn’t understand how 3 x 4 is equals to 4 x 3, and told me she hasn’t learnt subtraction. Which is kinda odd because Im pretty sure multiplication concepts are taught after subtraction!! She almost cried and became really, really quiet but she snapped out of it and managed to recite the 4 times-table to me twice…… Aliqa, please pay attention in class???
Pretty hypocritical of me though hahahahahaha ^
Anyway there was this one night where I almost had a breakdown (HAHA LSL) and it genuinely felt like the sky was raining poop.
I think I’ve been losing my chill (and sleep, but not because of this ->) over the past two weeks because of people who do and say terrible things, and ok I got it under control.
People are complex creatures that are really hard to understand.
As complex as [Al(OH)4]-.
As complex as complex numbers.
As complex as one-sided stories.
As complex as people who throw huge pieces of litter all around.
We’re not talking about tissue paper or dubious pieces of stray plastic.
We’re talking about green tea bottles and Chips More cookies packaging.
These things are not small or “forgettable” – do people always expect someone to clean up after the mess they make? Why do people do things like that?? I am genuinely confused – what makes you think you can leave your waste objects lying around and wait for others to pick them up for you?!
