This week in a nutshell: Prom, Outings and Misc. Events
Hello there :)
Today’s post may seem relatively rushed, but I just want to quickly note down everything that happened over the past few days before they’re tucked securely into the long-term memory bank.
As you may have guessed, #HPA stands for Happy Post As and my aim over the next 8 months is to live it meaningfully and not live like a slug. Let’s see how this turns out. Writing weekly seems pretty daunting a task but I shall try my best to document the weeks as they fly by.
I will avoid posting similar photos across social media platforms because what is the point right!
I’ll try to go by chronological order, but allow me to talk about Prom 2015 briefly!
#1 Enchanted (Prom 2015)
Made a very short video with clips that I snapped on my GoPro, featuring some of my favourite people. You can view it here!
(Watch in HD!)
Spent the night before at the hotel with CM and it was great fun, playing cards and talking about all sorts of silly things. I had the luxury of sleeping in the middle of the bed in between Clair and Mary – apparently I had the most space and drove Mary to the edge (thank goodness Clair slept well).
For some odd reason we found ourselves hungry at random points – at night, in the morning, in the afternoon… but we did have ourselves some good McDee breakfast on the day of Prom!
And CM judged me for not eating my hotcakes with any form of syrup or butter.
Yes, I eat my hotcakes plain.
Anyway time flew and soon it was Prom time and I think to summarise it – a mass photo-taking event with food served. I do not mean this to be derogatory in any way, and I had my share of fun! Thank you CM for your company and of course, FBN as well.
Thank you to mummy and Jie for settling all my Prom matters and woes, and Jie again for helping my friends apply the tricky eye make-up :)
It was a good night spent with great people.
#2 Visit to National Gallery
This was a pretty spontaneous decision but it didn’t turn out too bad at all. To be honest, the architecture at the National Gallery was mind-blowing and very beautiful but I found it pretty difficult to sit down and admire every single art piece in every exhibit. Maybe this is why I’m not artsy fartsy hahaha but I did find several paintings pretty interesting!
Thank you QTPF for the fun day out, I really miss NY days with you guys! I have expressed my love enough, you know it.
#3 SHY Shopping Trip
Initially the plan was to go ice-skating but because I am an ultimate loser and have never gone ice-skating (every single time someone suggests this for an outing, I try my best to decline it nicely) but I was worried I’d fall flat on my face and crawl my way to Prom (excuses) but they took it and off we went to Orchard!
We all had something we needed to buy and we did clear the agenda, to a certain extent!!
Truly had fun with LSL and Haby, looking forward to more time spent together!
Also did my nails for the first time in my life – I swear this post is confession time – and found these ultra terrifying dodgy nail art:
Hahaha I guess beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder – sometimes I find myself in a love-hate relationship with minions. I need another minion movie to refuel the love.
#4 Breakfast at Pacamara
Spontaneous meet-up session with K and JY, and before I forget, congratulations JY :) very happy for you, really! Thank you for the lovely morning and even though I am half-bummed I couldn’t join you guys from ice-cream onwards but I’m glad you guys had fun! Batch sleepover sometime soon? Yes.
Also had these lovely strips of potato:
We avoided the white stuff like the plague – and I still have no idea what it is (tastes like nothing) and UPDATE: sister says its Parmesan cheese. I have no idea. It looks like someone snipped up used correction tape and sprinkled it all over. That being said, the fries were really good and congratulations to K for FINALLY appreciating these deep-fry skinny stuff. Welcome to the Fries Club. And yes, take your time JY, take your time.
Enjoyed the morning spent with you guys!
Okay, I think I should go to bed now because it’s almost 2am in the morning.
Before I leave, take a look at this Christmas tree!
It’s a miniature version (in case you cannot tell, that’s my hand below) and I love the mini fairy lights and christmas ornaments. I really do love miniature versions of things, and even though this is not exactly tiny, you can’t deny that it is much, much smaller than an actual tree. I love it!
And yes, I changed my theme last week! Not sure if you guys realised because they look pretty similar, and I made a simple little banner as a daily reminder to be thankful for what we have. Also privated my previous post, but if you’d like the password just let me know!
Generally #HPAWeek1 was a pretty fulfilling week spent with people I love, and I am grateful for all the love I’ve received and I am excited for the weeks ahead and other plans in store for me (and you)!
Will be going on a holiday for the next 2 weeks with the people I love deeply and I honestly can’t wait – it has been a source of motivation over the past two months :)
I hope everything is going well with you guys, and please stay healthy and safe!
Thanks for reading :)
P.S. I know this is a shallow narration post but it’ll have to do for now because I really need to sleep haha see you guys in a bit!
