Hi friends :)
This will be the last post of 2014 and I’m so excited to share this with you guys!
Thank you for being in my life and taking time out to read this post.
First things first, I changed my blog theme!
Pretty satisfied with how everything turned out – if you’re not into it, it’s alright. We have our own tastes and preferences.
If you have nothing better to do with your life, you can explore the options in the menu bar above. :)
Spent way too much effort editing this hahaha.
I won’t be summarising or stating key events (too much work and effort – if you haven’t blogged about something like that before, try it and you’ll know how terrible an experience it truly is) but stating the top 3 under each category which will be shared below. It’ll be comprehensive. Okay, maybe not “top” per se but things that stood out to me. A lot of things made me happy (or sad) throughout the year and it’s impossible to remember them all!
I’m afraid I may leave events/people out, but I just want you to know I am really appreciative of people who have made 2014 the way it has been for me. It’s hard for me to know who exactly is reading this, but I hope 2014 was dayum amazing for you.
Have you heard of the “rule of three”? It applies to writing usually, but just going to apply the same rule here.
The rule of three is a writing principle that suggests that things that come in threes are inherently funnier, more satisfying, or more effective than other numbers of things.

Note: Please do not take this post too seriously. Nothing I write should be taken very seriously. Hahaha.
14 Categories for the year of 2014!
(Don’t ask me how I came up with these categories, I have no idea…)
You’re going to get down and personal with me for this post, so if you’re not ready to enter this level of friendship, you may back out. HAHAHAH.
3 Great Moments
EDIT: THIS WAS THE HARDEST SECTION TO DO OMG
#1 Adventure Cove Stay
Really had A LOT of fun those two days :)
Maybe because it was March and I was just floating around after Orientation and school work wasnt intense at all. Really enjoyed my stay there despite my initial reluctance to check it out. Of course the company matters a whole lot more – so thankful for FBN who’s always there for me. I still remembered I jumped out of the float (??) after the slide and scraped my knee pretty badly with blood trickling down my leg and he had the shock of his life and brought me to the first aid centre.
And I also remember the awesome dinner we had with mummy and jie at Coca that night :) yay for their squids!
And of course the stay itself where we got to sleep with the fishes! (not swim)
It was really amazing. Truly.
#2 Japan Trip
Not going to re-narrate the whole trip but I really had my fair share of fun being at Japan with my family. It was a very precious trip and I don’t know how to put it across to you… Despite it being pretty short (6 days+) I had a great time. :)
You can re-watch the video here. ;)
#3 Typhoon Haiyan Performance @ SOTA
Kelda’s friend invited us to perform at a charity performance for Typhoon Haiyan! Was scrolling through my Instagram feed and just wanted to include this into the post. Pretty miss being in a P.A. CCA with the loveliest of batchmates who are still very precious to me. Possibly the last time being on stage but it was super fun preparing for it and spending quality time with these amazing girls.
3 Terrible Moments
#1 11 April
This day was when I experienced Murphy’s Law (everything that can go wrong WILL go wrong) firsthand. I can remember every single thing that happened and it makes me shiver. Maybe if you dig through my previous blog posts you will be able to find out more but I’m not going to go through this again. May all 11 Aprils from 2015 onwards be amazing.
#2 Red Seats Saga
If you’re a Bio student, you’ll remember my humiliated expression for life. Getting sent to the red seats is an opportunity of a lifetime – you need the right people, right circumstances and right atmosphere to get sent down there. I’ve learnt to see the positivity in things.
But that being said if I get to go through the whole process again, I would buy masking tape to tape up Isabel’s mouth (and eyes). And smile to myself.
To be honest, the seats are really comfortable and the learning environment is perfect.
I’ve really learnt to be positive this year.
#3 Getting punished in class
This one was really terrible for me because something like that has never happened to me in my life HAHAHA. Friends who were punished as well took it way less seriously than me, with Xinjie scribbling nonsense on my paper while we were all standing. Moment to remember, but never going to repeat it. EVER.
Turning over a new leaf guys. HAHAHAHA.Haha, need to include the following categories because of the importance of social media in our world today. #nofaith #influence
The quality is atrocious, but basically my mum drafted a contract and made me sign it. If I didn’t obey the terms as stated, I will have to swear off junk food and have no monthly allowance.
My mum’s adorable.
FBN being awfully sweet.
And Anna Akana retweeted it!! (Whatever la ok she retweeted many many many people’s as well but still)
Love her a lot! She has been a huge inspiration for the past two/three years I’ve been watching her on YouTube. She’s smart and genuine – and it really stands out. :)
3 Questions from Ask.fm (that I liked a lot)
Wild and free at primary 1
Just a warning. HAHAHAHA
Think you sneaky but I sneakier
Personally ask.fm is really just a space full of nonsense – people get to ANONYMOUSLY invade your privacy and ask strange questions (some of which weren’t answered) behind their computer screens. While it is indeed a platform with some degree of danger, you can’t deny it’s fun to pop by once in a while just to answer some lame questions!! Also answered several “serious” questions – always willing to be your Aunt Agony. Even if my advice isn’t the most sound you might ever possibly receive, I promise I won’t judge and listen to you all night if I have to. :)
3 Pictures from Instagram
One of the more recent pictures we took – merry christmas guys, yeah, no need for belated because 12 days of Christmas… yadayada…..
4th anniversary earlier on with this frigging adorable and lovely being :) :) :)
Confession: All 3 photos had FBN in it but swopped the last one out because that was terrifying to know and there were pretty close runner-ups so I put this in…
Chanced upon these cute pillows in a YouTube video and had to go check it out at Throwboy Pillows! Google it and find out more :) Use the code #HATEMASKEDADS to get 90% off!
Please don’t hate on me.
This whole saga is really getting way more attention than it deserves, and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, don’t bother finding out. HAHA.
There are really more severe and important events people can actually bother to look into… But I guess gossip is always more entertaining and interesting.
BY THE WAY: Code obviously doesn’t work, but the website itself is legit (and lovely). Plus the price has gone down from when I bought it so yes! If you want it you can really go check it out. It’ll make a great present I think! (and they have the TINY keychains omgad)
3 Groups of Friends
Not sure how many of my classmates actually read my blog, but immensely grateful for this class. Almost crapped my pants knowing FBN was actually allocated to the same class as me along with Mary (favourite deskmate) and Clara! B C M E. What are the odds, considering there wasnt even any special programmes or subjects? Classmates are generally lovely and even though we’ve still got a fair bit of bonding to do, very grateful for you guys!!
Photo credits to Sam for pictures above!!
Again need to clarify NOT MY HAND ON FBN’S FACE (but touchy Mervyn’s)
And of course special mention to (possibly) the noisiest and most annoying group of people who tolerate me (as much as I tolerate them): #CHAOS (keeping it like that here HAHA)
Thank you Isabel, Clair, Xinjie and Mary for the past year. Been through lots of nonsense with y’all but very happy and thankful for you four!!! May 2015 be brand new and amazing :)
And of course FBN who’s always trying to save my butt during lessons when any teacher calls on me while I was making noise. :) :) :)
Is it strange if I tell you I’ve been wanting to join Interact since I was Secondary 2?!?!? HAHAHA. The people here are so genuine and lovely and warm and amazing as well :) Nothing to regret at all.
Really loving all the people in the club :)
Special mention to this highly dysfunctional OT. We’re getting there guys, don’t give up on us.
Thank you for all the inefficient meetings and digressions and nonsense – meetings have been pretty fun to be honest. NHMed’15 will be a bloomin’ success. Jiayou!! We can do it. :)
Missing Nat, who was sick!
3 Guilty Pleasures
I feel like I read well over a 100 books this year. If you know me you’ll know I had an intense addiction to Wattpad (peaked at Sec 3 EOYs, and hence messed that up) and its trashy books. Keyword: HAD
Realised I deserved better in life (to be fair not all Wattpad books were trashy, a large percentage were and the better ones eventually became “sample”s and published) and found out the amazing fact that I could (illegally) download legit books into my iBooks app and check them out from there. Blogged about this before a long time ago HAHA!
None of the books I read were suitable or I&I Book Review…. hahaha. But I’ve always loved reading.
If you’ve a book to recommend, please do!
#2 Canned Chips
Technically not canned, but chips in bottles. (Chip Star, Lays Stax, Pringles…)
Rediscovered my love for them because they actually don’t taste bad at all and are easy to store. Chip Star is my favourite (Japanese brand) because it actually tastes remotely like the Hello Kitty chips I used to love so dearly when I was younger. No longer know where to buy ‘em Hello Kitty chips but I’ve settled for Chip Star. Yum yum.
Haha this is quite a nonsensical one but I can’t stop chewing gum?!?
Maybe because it’s unavailable in Singapore thats why I feel like a badass queen.
But really enjoying myself some gum. From Johor.
#1 Discovering Facebook images cannot be hotlinked because of some mirror site nonsense
Feeling like the ultimate loser and retard of the century right now, because all the images I have previously placed in my blog posts were ALL from Facebook (including this post). Turns out most of them are gone and in the place of where my glorious images used to sit is now a frigging question mark.
Not going to bother to re-upload all my images but I’m going to learn my lesson and upload directly to WordPress for the year of 2015.
HAHA you should read the more recent posts while the photos are still there! Don’t know when they’re going to disappear and feeling so sour about it. ;(
If you have a way to make them stay please let me know!!
(And also going to post less images because mum says my blog posts are mainly photo-sharing stuff gathered from Twitter and Instagram… that I agree. Will move on from that for the 2015!! WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT POINT…)
#2 Not blogging the way I wanted to
Because I had an (unexpected) increase in readership this year, I felt that I was more conscious with the crap I was writing and the stuff I published were “safe”, PC things to say. Okay maybe not PC because talking about my life here, but it has gotten more boring. Not sure if you guys realized? But for 2015 I’m going to take ownership of my blog and make the posts mine. Not going to merely post pictures and add lame captions!!
Even though my command of the language isn’t the best, it’s nicer to ramble without restrictions. :)
#3 Not working hard enough
Because I’m 17 and I live in the academically-competitive pressure-cooking Singapore, I feel the need to add this because I honestly slacked off a lot this year. Not only this year actually but from Secondary 3 onwards… Was just sliding and sliding and playing and playing and yeah you get me :( It’s the year of A’s, and possibly the only year that truly matters in terms of academics because THIS determines where you end up. Kinda. I don’t regret taking up various commitments though, because those are what made me the person I am today and allowed me to meet some pretty dayum lovely people. Going to work harder next year and REALLY start to listen in class and lectures (Bio ones, secured). Haha. We will work hard together, okay? No matter how old you are and what dreams you’re chasing.
3 Pet Peeves I Discovered I Had
#1 People dissing my Chrome filter
Come on guys. It’s amazing. If you use it in the right photos…it’s fan-frigging-tastic.
I think 9.5 in 10 people told me to “switch your filter off, it’s gross” in my face. The 0.5 is FBN who gently tells me “Chrome filter is nice, really”.
I think what hurt the most was when a random stranger helped my friends and I snap a picture and HE HAD THE AUDACITY TO COMMENT “burgh I’ll remove the filter” BEFORE PROCEEDING TO SWITCH IT TO “NORMAL” MODE.
Wow. You’re so incredibly rude.
#2 People Checking Out My Phone Like It’s Theirs
I don’t know if this happened to you before? But imagine this.
Someone you aren’t that close to grabs your phone, swipes their finger across the screen, sees the password page, and looks at you expectantly.
Wow girl. Not obliged to unlock my phone for you to raid ok?!??!?!?!?
Terrible ones go to your “Messages” or “WhatsApp” to read (GIRL YOU ARE CROSSING THE LINE) but the absolute worst begin sending messages to other people.
Oh not to forget those who explore your photos for blackmail material.
If I know you and like you, you’re cute.
If not, you’re a frigging rude chap who needs to be given a sound beating.
(I realised I sounded quite harsh. HAHAHAHA)
#3 People dissing my “Cheat” shoes
NUMBER 1: THEY ARE NOT CHEAT.
They are merely shoes with height, some with a bit and some with a lot.
(And any member of the public can buy them, so technically all of you can buy it and we’ll still have the same height difference. It’s not about the height difference but fresher air. HAHAHAH #bullshit)
These are essential for people who unfortunately do not hit the 1.6m mark and wish to smell better air.
Everyone can own a pair of shoes that give them a little height-booster ok. The fresher air and confidence these shoes can provide? Priceless.
(But every single person who criticises me for my shoes are people I love, so you’re lucky, if not I’ll attack you with my shoes.)
3 Things I Discovered I Got Over
#1 People unfollowing me on Instagram
I used to be really upset when people unfollow me on Instagram and I take it personally. LIKE WHAT DID I DO TO LOSE YOUR LOVE??!?!?!?!?!
But then this year, no feelings attached man.
If you’re not keen in my messy feed and chrome pictures, it’s alright baby.
HAHAHA. This applies to Instagram only because I guess thats the application which took off this year.
Don’t really care about Twitter friends because I post weird stuff on there anyway…
Less is more.
#2 People leaving my room door open
Nothing to hide, nothing to lose.
I’ll just close it myself when I have something to hide.
Like potato chips.
#3 People scribbling on my notes
This used to be something I disliked so strongly but now I’m all calm and ready for you doodlers. Really doesn’t piss me off at all, take my worksheet and draw on it, take it home, whatever. I love you.
3 New Things I Love(d)
#1 WhatsApp Blue Ticks
This comes first in the list because it has become such an incredible tool for relaying of messages. This not only benefits people who are crazy about others acknowledging their messages (i.e. me) especially in a group setting, but also allows lazy people to slide away after reading the messages.
There may be technical glitches and all, but please, we all know the reliability behind this function.
(I mean of course if the message you’re relaying is of utmost importance YOU GOT TO DIG THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OUT, OKAY?)
If you’re squirming about how creepy it is THEN DONT USE THE FUNCTION. HAHAHA. Life goes on. You don’t have to care about ‘em blue ticks and check out who read your message in a group chat. Don’t bother. (I heard you can disable it in Android but Im not too sure)
#2 iPhone 6
Hahahahahahah. Hahahahahaha. Hahahahaha.
You know I actually wanted to blog about an in-depth review about iPhone 6?
Never got down to it because was overwhelmed by projects that were going on…
My favourite feature is the improvement in the Camera – you can now adjust brightness/lighting/crop easily/rotate by frigging DEGREES. This is major cool okay. And not to forget how I now can finally get into my phone through Touch ID… which doesn’t work sometimes, but it’s cool.
Really like everything about the phone. Dropped it a few times and it’s still doing great, although now it’s buzzing by itself sometimes. I think I messed up the vibration thingy inside the phone (happened to my previous phone) but that’s okay. Still bearable.
#3 Dodgy Insta accounts
HAHA even though I don’t own an account, I love being a part of others’ spam/dodgy accounts because even though the photos are considerably crappier, they’re more true to who they really are as lovely and funny people.
Really tempted to create one – we’ll see!!
3 People (who were there for everything)
What will I do without my favourite human being?
Love you mummy for everything you’ve given me and everything you’ve done for me and being so strong and cute and lovely and a bit disgusting. You are the most amazing thing I ever called “mine”!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!! A lot. Really.
My one and only sister I love a lot a lot!
She probably looks like a tough hot chick but inside she’s pure and lovely and so incredibly YOUNG. (But she still nags oh my god SHE’S SO NAGGY)
You deserve all the happiness Jie :)
Hope you are truly happy – only wish nothing but happiness for you.
(Nice flowers, by the way)
Think he was pissing me off in class during PW…….
Thank you for everything Ng :) You make life so much happier and easier and better!!
Don’t like it when people say you’re GL but I guess sometimes you really are so… HAHAHAHA. But I love it and love you and embrace all your flaws. You know you’re capable of much more than you really choose to show :) (and give me some of your brains, just a bit will do)
And thank you for tolerating me and my moodiness and unreasonableness.
AND!!! S&Y – thank u 4 everything i love u 2.
And beefy for listening to my stupid rants :’) Will always be here for you!!
3 Lessons Learnt
#1 Treasure your loved ones
I mean, seriously.
Really learnt this from OCIP.
Be appreciative for people who made your life much better than it really is – think about how life would be like without them. Think about it. Before you scold your parents on Twitter or scold anyone at all. I find it mega disturbing when people scold their parents on Twitter because WHO WILL YOU BE WITHOUT THEM? Don’t publish things to the public you know you don’t mean or in a fit of anger.
And with the more-than-usual aviation accidents, you never know what’s going to happen in the future.
I read a post by a girl who managed to survive a shooting at a Food Court in Toronto (?). She wrote about how life felt different afterwards because you never know what was going to happen. But the most awful thing is she passed away in the Batman shooting accident in the cinema a few days later. Really broke my heart :(
Show people you love the care and concern they deserve.
#2 Don’t judge people based on what you see
A lot of people are truly different from what they let on. Sometimes I feel like everyone is hiding behind a mask, including myself. So don’t be quick to hate on or judge people just because of the things they do or say, because you don’t even know what they are truly like. Until you do, save judgement for a later time and enjoy the process of forming a lovely, innocent friendship.
#3 Don’t allow insignificant matters to affect your mood
Easier said than done, but there were a few periods throughout the year I was feeling pretty down. In retrospect, most were completely stupid and petty – why did I let it affect my mood so greatly?! I think we can all allow ourselves to break down and be upset, but we need to learn to suck it up and move on, because there are so many more people who are capable of giving you the joy you deserve.
While these three points may be so incredibly cliche and goosebumpsy, I think events this year led me to have a deeper understanding of the above things mentioned. Sometimes you gotta go through some things before you truly understand what it means.
3 (of the many) Things I Must Accomplish in 2015
Decided not to create a list of resolutions because they almost always never work out. And they’re created just for the temporary hype and crap because LOOK IT’S A NEW YEAR!
But they’ll always be forgotten.
So instead of abstract things like “Live Happy” – I could say something like have a happy meal @ Macs once every month. That’s amazing. And practical. And realistic. HAHAHA.
#1 Lose ‘em fats (not all, but hopefully a substantial amount)
HAHA this one is on my list every year and this year will be no exception.
Need to live healthily and stop making terrible food choices……… but will still do when time calls for it.
Will try my best for NAPFA HAHAHAHAH and will definitely pass it!!
#2 Spend quality time with family weekly and friends who matter at least once in a while
(and post Insta dedications to lovely friends)
#3 Have no regrets
Inevitably there will be regrets here and there, but no major ones, like passing up an opportunity because of other reasons. Going to YOLO and do whatever I want instead of being a worrywart!!
Also applies to situations like academics – please please please future me, don’t slack off and regret T.T
Thank you so much for reading this long, long post :)
I hope 2014 has been truly amazing for you.
May 2015 be even better.
New Year – but not new me. Better me. HAHA.
Have a mind-blowing year ahead!
(Never signed off like that but really wanted to show my love HAHA)

LAST DAY OF 2014 – MAKE IT COUNT BABY (enjoy yourself wherever you are)
